"I Don't Know About Tomorrow"

It's pretty amazing how God chooses to speak to us isn't it?

While driving back from work today, this classic hymn from Sunday School days came ringing back in my head. It was pretty amazing that I could almost recall the entire lyrics. Anyway the Nets got everything and I managed to find it:

I dont know about tomorrow
I just live from day to day
I dont borrow from its sunshine
For its skies may turn to grey
And i dont worry about my future
For i know what Jesus said
and today He walks beside me
for He knows what lies ahead
Many things about tomorrow
I dont seem to understand
But i know who holds tomorrow
and i know who holds my hand

The lyrics are so simple and so perfectly sums up what God is to us. There is nothing more we can add or subtract in a situation like this, and there are many situations we simply cannot fathom or explain except to just learn... to trust Him.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Proverbs 3:5,6

It is only by God's grace that all of us live each day happily :-)

Praise Him that we have been so lucky to have been in ACS/MGS most parts of our lives...The many years of exposure to His Word, songs of worship, chapel services and daily devotions mean that there are nuggets from memory which pop up to encourage us whenever we most need it!

For me, it is the song 'Trust and Obey'...a favourite primary school song we used to sing all the time.

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

I had prayed hard about Mok and I in our early days and this was the song that rang loud and clear in my mind then. 'Trust and Obey, for there's no other way...'

With the confidence that God chose Mok for me, I took a leap of faith. And He proves to me over and over each day why He has done so.

Thank you, Alex and JoK for being a living testament to us around you of what it means to stay faithful.

Jotan, thanks for sharing. In many ways Jo and I have always silently looked towards you as an example too. What you went through with your family has certainly been trying...but it's exactly as you've shared in your song - Trust & Obey, that it is Christ who sustains us all.
